There is no such thing as a typical day for me. I will not complain. I had a desk job for over 8years and did the same thing everyday. My freelance/entrepreneur lifestyle is much better suited for my personality. What I will take you through today is not my typical day, rather a day I had a few weeks ago and enjoyed it very much.
By the way, I'm interested, what would your ideal work day consist of? Click on the chat button below and we might just make it happen for you :) we're that good!
Ok on to my day:
7am:
I'm on the road to quitting coffee. It's horrible don't try it. I had become addicted to it so I had to switch to just tea. On this day I started with rooibos tea. And yeah, I totally ate that pineapple by my self. I'm obsessed with fruit. My mornings are usually me attempting to start working and just declaring all my to do list as boring and non-creative (it's never true, just lazy). Whilst angrily sipping on my rooibos.
9am:
Ok by this time, I've just accepted that I'm an adult and adults don't make excuses all day. They work. I'm working on a book called '7 Days to a better You'. I'm having so much fun putting it together. It's a book I'd certainly read and I'm a fussy reader. Check it out on our SHOP section. Working from home can be lonely, so every hour or so I go on the internet to see what other creatives are up to. Now that I'm inspired, I write like a machine.
1pm:
I have an attention span of a two year old. I'm either starving or just trying to step away from work. Home-prepared lunch with mainly berries and pastry is what I usually go for. I eat in front of the computer whilst responding to emails and doing tons of research on upcoming content for our website. In most cases when there's no need to publish, I consult with the team and we decide to let the 'beast' breath. A few months ago were hard as we felt we had to communicate with you every single day. Once we established that's not where our brand is going. The work became much lighter.
3pm:
The most exciting part of my job is studio visits. To help strategize for a client we go to their studio for a photoshoot and interview. This gives us the feel of the business. This day I met with Jackie. We became best friends immediately. She's meticulous and spontaneous at the same time. We chatted about where she wants to take her brand and how we can help. I left her studio even more inspired.
6pm:
Stop by the market for bread and a quick dinner.
My days are mainly: writing, research, meetings and emails. (also a whole lot of snacking).
